Masturbation Is A Comfort

Masturbation is a comfort in the midst of stress and frustration. 

I am always amazed when talking to married couples. The higher the stress levels the more the man wants to have sex yet the woman thinks he is crazy... the higher the stress the less a woman desires to be touched much less have sex. 

Men are comforted in their stress by sexual release... and masturbation is the easiest opportunity. 

BUT

Paul writes to us in  2 Corinthians 1NLT

All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. ⁴He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. ⁵You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. ⁶So when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your benefit and salvation! For when God comforts us, it is so that we, in turn, can be an encouragement to you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. ⁷We are confident that as you share in suffering, you will also share God's comfort.

How does this apply to our struggle with masturbation.  The desire for sexual release is not sin... but is God given.  He has designed our bodies to have sex yet set up the boundary of one man and one woman in marriage.  But what about the man who isn't married or isn't having ENOUGH sex?  God has designed our bodies to release itself when it NEEDS release.  Most often through wet dreams. 

So the struggle with masturbation can now be turned to a suffering for Christ, when you choose not to masturbate but endure the URGE with patience in order to bring honor to our Great God of mercy and receive our COMFORT from him!!!
