The M word... masturbation... and the P word pornography... they seem to go together.
Here are some thoughts, for men who struggle with "M" and homosexuality.
When we choose to masturbate we exchange the worship of our creator for the worship of the "created thing"... that is our own penis. We raise up an idol to offer pleasure and gratification... we exchange God's intended purpose of sexual pleasure and excitement for a perverted pleasure that drains away our life.
Read with me from Romans 1: 21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Notice my friend how sin leads to sin... we continue to deepen in sin as we exchange the truth for one lie after another.
Truly, masturbating to fantasies of other men and their bodies is bowing to worship a false god. Masturbation and pornography are the worship of the penis. When I learned this, God began to set me free from the deep root of same sex attractions. In my spirit I was disgusted that I had spent many years erecting the penis in the place of God. I had exchanged the pleasures of God for the pleasures of my flesh. I had elevated the image of the PENIS onto God's throne as though I could over throw God. What an awful evidence of the deceit and wickedness of my heart.
...Christ is our hope... there is no other GOD!!! He is the only One who can restore us from sin... the only One who can free us from sin's power. I love Ezekiel 36:28-28
Ezekiel 36 NLT 25"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. 26And I will give you a new heart with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart. 27And I will put my Spirit in you so you will obey my laws and do whatever I command. 28"And you will live... You will be my people, and I will be your God.
This new heart... this new spirit we receive from God in indwelled by the Holy Spirit. It is God's gift to us that changes us. It is a new nature... a new creation that does not know homosexuality or pornography or masturabation or same sex attractions. It is from this place where God has written His Word within us that God the Spirit begins to change how we think, feel, and choose... He begins to restore us to live in His truth.
There is great HOPE... Read with me Colssians 3:27: For it has pleased God (Wow think about that... it pleased God) to tell his people that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. For this is the secret: Christ lives in you, and this is your assurance that you will share in his glory.
