Romans 6:1-14

Summed up in five key words:

1. KNOW (Line diagrams)

"knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin." Romans 6:6

"For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." Colossians 3:3

"Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds," Colossians 3:9

2. RECKON (Wheel diagrams, The Application of the Cross outline)

["Reckon" is more than a guess; it is an accounting term that means to count it as true personally.]

"For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:10,11

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20

5. WALK

"For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Romans 8:3,4

"I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." Galatians 5:16

In other words, "The abiding Life is not only an experience to achieve; it is a

relationship to maintain."
